Transition Acceleration Program
Management Solutions International offers a Transition Acceleration Program (TAP) designed for your mid-to-senior level managers who are at the start (ideally the first 3 months) of a leadership transition. The program teaches leaders how to create a transition plan that will enable them to quickly and efficiently succeed in their new leadership role.
The program provides the tools to help leaders accelerate their transition by learning the unique and critical actions that will enable them to decrease the time it takes for your organization to recognize a return on its hiring/promotion investment.
TAP is built upon solid research covering the common failures founds during most new transitions and focuses on the Core Transition Tasks – a set of research-based tasks that help transitioning leaders avoid common transition traps.
The Core Transition Tasks are:
Diagnosing Your Situation - Given that all transitions are unique, this task provides a framework that helps leaders discern which of four typical transition situations they are entering in order to identify the most critical skills and strategies to apply in their own unique transition.
Assessing Your Situation and Yourself – Many leaders fail because they rely too heavily on the success of actions they previously took – actions that were appropriate in a different context. This task helps leaders identify their potential strengths to leverage, as well as vulnerabilities that could significantly impact their real-world transition.
Accelerating Your Learning – One must learn a vast amount of information at the beginning of a transition. This task provides leaders with insight into what and how to learn, in order to accelerate their results.
Prioritizing to Succeed – Leaders have much to do in a limited amount of time. This task helps leaders identify early wins and establish A-item priorities to ensure short- and long-term success.
Working with Your Boss – This task helps leaders identify specific strategies for conversations with the individual who can most impact their transitions success: their boss.
Building Your Team – While a leader is in transition, so is his or her team. This task focuses leaders who are inheriting or building a team on initial steps to take to generate team momentum.
Creating Partnerships – Recognizing that leaders must rely heavily on others during a transition, this task helps them analyze the complex map of the space in which they must learn, work, and achieve results.
